Bugatti has announced its annual target has been reached, delivering 70 Chiron supercars in 2017.

The Bugatti Chiron made its official debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, sporting 1,500 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of torque from an 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine. And with a base price of around $2.6 million, it’s not a cheap investment to make. But over 300 Chiron supercars have already been sold out of a limited 500 units. According to the French automaker, 43 percent of orders have come from Europe, 26 percent from North America, and 23 percent from the Middle East. The Asia-Pacific region accounts for the remaining eight percent.

Production of the Bugatti Chiron started in fall 2016 at the company’s headquarters in Molsheim, Alsace. Deliveries began in March 2018.

“It is a tremendous success for the entire Bugatti team that we have already reached the target of 70 vehicles in the first full year of production of the Chiron,” said Wolfgang Dürheimer, president of Bugatti. “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our suppliers for their commitment and delivery compliance.”
