The GAC Motor Enverge Concept made its debut at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show and it could head to production for the North American market.
The Chinese automaker has shared its plan on entering the U.S. market by the end of next year and along with showing off some of its current offerings at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, GAC debuted the Enverge Concept. The electric crossover is said to preview a future production model aimed at young consumers, which is evident by its bold styling and fancy scissor doors. Overall it has a coupe-like appearance, although we expect some of its more futuristic styling will be toned down for production.
According to GAC, the Enverge rides on the company’s all-new EV platform and is powered by a 71-kWh battery, offering a range of over 370 miles. Fast charging technology allows it to charge up to 240 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
There’s a few elements that caught our eye on the Enverge, including headlights that can slide out and serve as flood lights. Inside, there’s a “floating” digital dash screen and perhaps most interesting, side windows are non-existent on the concept.
