2019 GMC Sierra Set to Debut in March

1

Following the debut of the new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, GMC will unveil the new Sierra next month.

The unveiling will take place in Detroit on March 1, less than two months after the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado bowed at the auto show. While specs and powertrains on the Sierra are expected to be the same or at least similar to the new Silverado, it is believed GMC’s offering will be more differentiated from Chevy’s than ever before. The unveiling will also introduce the more luxurious Sierra Denali model.

When we caught up with the new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, the American automaker said the new pickup is larger than the current models, but as much as 450 pounds lighter. It rides on a longer wheelbase, resulting in more interior space, while a new high-strength steel bed offers increased cargo volume. Six different powertrain combinations will be available on the Silverado, including a 6.2-liter V8 diesel paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It’s the first diesel offered in a full-size Chevrolet pickup since the late 1990s.
