The New Nissan Altima Will Look Like This

Renault-Nissan has shared a design sketch for the new 2019 Nissan Altima, which will make its debut later this month at the New York International Auto Show.

Expectedly, the new Altima has adopted Nissan’s V-Motion corporate grille. Perhaps less expected, though, is just how large the newly applied grille really is. The Nissan logo applied to the grille also looks rather large in these sketches, so one thing is for sure – you won’t be mistaking the new Altima for Toyota, Honda or any other competing product.

In a statement, Nissan said the sketch “reveals an expressive, sophisticated all-new Altima and hints at the future of Nissan’s sedan design language.”

The new Altima is expected to retain its naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine and CVT automatic transmission. A new turbocharged four is expected serve as the upgraded engine option, taking the place of the 3.5-liter V6 in the current model. The interior will also undergo a major redesign, adopting a large tablet-like infotainment screen that will likely feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can also expect Nissan’s ProPilot Assist driver assistance technologies to appear.

The 2019 Nissan Altima will debut on March 28th. Stay tuned for all the details on this new Japanese four-door as they become available.
