Toyota Supra Racing Concept Gets an Initial D Style Video

2

The Toyota Supra Racing Concept made its debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show this week, giving us our best look yet at what the production version of the new Supra will look like.

To coincide with the Supra Racing Concept’s debut, Toyota made an awesome promo video for its home market in Japan. The digitally animated video features three Supra Racing Concepts – one painted white, one painted red and one painted black. The white car is pictured on one of Japan’s iconic ‘touge’ mountain passes, while the red car is seen tackling the Nurburgring in Germany. The black car stays in the city in Tokyo, racing down the turnpike.

Eventually, all three of the Supras come together and meld into one, creating the red, white and black liveried Supra Racing Concept that was presented in Geneva. We interpret this as meaning the Supra will have three personalities: regular city driving, sporty on-road and track. But more importantly, the car looks stunning in the digitally rendered footage – especially with Tokyo serving as the backdrop. And maybe it’s just us, but we’re getting some Initial D vibes from the video clip.
