Updated 2019 BMW 7 Series Seen Testing at the Nurburgring

The BMW 7 Series is putting its facelift to the test at the Nurburgring.

Spy photographers have caught the refreshed luxury sedan putting in laps on the world famous track, wearing the same amount of camouflage as the last time we saw it. The 7 Series is getting its facelift a bit earlier than normal, due to the introduction of the Audi A8 and the updated Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Expect some changes up front, with new light clusters and a larger grille opening for a more dramatic appearance. Don’t be surprised if the X7 Concept iPerformance serves as an inspiration for some of the minor styling changes to the 7 Series sedan.

It’s still unclear when the updated 7 Series will debut, but it should arrive by next year since there aren’t any major changes to the sheetmetal. Don’t expect to see any significant changes under the hood, although BMW’s engineers could tweak performance just a bit in terms of power and efficiency.

In terms of tech however, BMW has begun testing an autonomous 7 Series, so new advanced driver assistance technologies should be heading to the facelifted model.
