Spy photographers have caught Cadillac‘s new three-row crossover testing near GM’s Milford Proving Grounds.

The 2020 Cadillac XT6 could make its debut later this year at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, filling the gap between the XT5 and Escalade models. It is expected to go on sale in April or May 2019, competing with other luxury three-row crossovers such as the Acura MDX, Infiniti QX60, and Audi Q7.

The new crossover is said to ride on GM’s Chi platform, sporting a long wheelbase to comfortably accommodate third-row passengers. Although this prototype is still wearing heavy camouflage, we can see hints that the XT6 will have similar styling to the XT5.

Expect to see plenty of luxury inside the cabin, borrowing technologies from the Cadillac CT6 sedan. Power is expected to come from a 3.6-liter V6 engine paired to a nine-speed automatic, with standard stop/start to boost fuel economy.
