Watch a 5,200 Lb Jeep Accelerate From 0-60 MPH in 2.7s
The stock Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk makes 707 hp from its supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in a supercar-baiting 3.5s.
Those are ridiculous numbers by any stretch – especially for a 5,200 lb Jeep. However, the whacked-out minds over at Hennessey Performance Engineering figured the Trackhawk wasn’t fast enough, and promptly set to work on a 1,000+ hp upgrade kit for the already bonkers SUV.
Hennessey’s HPE1000 upgrade kit for the Trackhawk consists of a larger 4.5-liter supercharger, high-flow fuel injectors, long tube headers, an upgraded fuel pump, a high flow air induction system and more. The result? 1,012 hp at 6,500 RPM and 969 lb-ft of torque from 4,200 RPM.

Hennessey claims the SUV will scoot from 0-60 mph in 2.7s and complete the quarter mile in 10.7s and 132 mph. Based on the video of them testing the vehicle, which we’ve embedded above, that seems about right. The HPE1000 Trackhawk looks impossible fast for such a big heavy vehicle. Color us very impressed, Hennessey.
