Join Us in Drooling Over This Martini Porsche 911 GT2 RS
Even if you’re not a motorsports fan, it’s likely you’ve still seen race cars painted up in Martini’s iconic racing colors.
Martini is one of the most historic and recognizable sponsors to ever grace a racing car, so it’s no surprise that a buyer of the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS wanted their car done up in the gorgeous red, white and blue paint scheme.
Photos of the car were tweeted out by Porsche Retail, which says it was completed by Porsche’s Group Central Operations division. What’s impressive is that this isn’t a vinyl wrap – it’s all paint. Considering the price of Porsche’s factory options, we can’t even begin to imagine how much a project like this cost.

The livery is inspired by the 1978 Porsche 935/78 ‘Moby Dick’ that contested the 1978 24 Hours of Le Mans. While it didn’t win the race, the 935/78 remains an icon for its radical whale tail design and ridiculous 845 hp twin-turbocharged flat six-engine. The 935/78 was also the fastest car on the Mulsanne straight that year, reaching a top speed of 228 mph.
The 911 GT2 RS may be no 935/78, but with 690 hp on tap from its 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six, it continues Porsche’s legacy of building wildly powerful, heavily turbocharged 911s that push the boundaries of what the rear-engine, rear-wheel drive layout is capable of.
