Prices for Electric Porsche Taycan May Start at Around $92k
The fully electric Porsche Taycan may be priced below the Porsche Panamera in the United States, which starts at $98,300.
Speaking to Automotive News Europe, Tycan project manager Robert Meier said Porsche was hoping to price the Taycan “between a Cayenne and a Panamera,” in Europe. The Cayenne starts at 74,828 euros ($85,930) in Germany, while the Panamera starts at 90,655 euros ($104,105 USD). Meier said a starting price just above 80,000 euros is most likely, which would place the Taycan’s starting price at around $92,000 in the US if you were to make a direct conversion.
That’s just the starting price for Porsche’s answer to the Tesla Model S, though. The price will rise as customer’s check the options boxes for more powerful electric motors, additional interior options, active safety tech and so on. Porsche has already said a version of the Taycan will make 600 hp, enabling it to sprint from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in under 3.5s and from 0-124 mph (200 km/h) in under 12s. It also indicated an NEDC driving range of around 310 miles. It’s not clear if those are the stats for the base Taycan, a mid-range model or the loaded model, though.

Porsche is already setting up a charging infrastructure for the Taycan’s arrival late next year. Its various 800V fast charging stations are already beginning to pop up at Porsche dealers in Germany and will eventually be found at Porsche dealers in North America as well. Porsche’s fast-charging stations will also be found at places Porsche owners frequent, such as hotels, country clubs, restaurants and the like. The automaker is launching a ‘Porsche Charging App’ with the car, which will make it easier for owners to locate the charge stalls and pay to use them.
