General Motors has issued a recall on 1,621 new vehicles with brake lights that flash when the brake pedal isn’t being engaged.

Kicking off the Detroit Auto Show, the Cadillac ATS was just named the 2013 North American Car of the Year.

Back in July, when AutoGuide.com reviewed the 2013 Cadillac ATS, Editor-in-Chief Colum Wood extolled the virtues of its handling, but also commented on the shortcomings of the car’s manual transmission. It appears AutoGuide wasn’t the only one that felt the manual transmission could be better.

The Cadillac ATS is the American brand’s answer to the BMW 3 Series and it has now received an official EPA fuel rating of 21 mpg city and 31 mpg highway when equipped with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine.

This week we have another Five-Point Inspection for you, focusing on the six-cylinder 2013 Cadillac ATS. The ATS is a rear-wheel drive sport-sedan, with a starting price of $33,095.

Unlike modern trends of SUVs going to uni-body construction and adopting smaller more fuel efficient engines, Cadillac says that then next generation Escalade will stay large, and forgo some mpg for power and presence.

Over the decades Cadillac has devolved into a brand who’s popularity is highest among those in retirement communities. A plan to change that has been in place for a decade now, focusing heavily on performance machines with Cadillac even honing its own performance V sub-brand to challenge German rivals like AMG and M. But the brand’s biggest push yet to target more youthful buyers comes with the youngest product in the lineup, the new ATS.

Cadillac has just revealed the pricing for its 2013 Cadillac ATS sport sedan that is poised to take on the highly competitive segment. Available in three powertrains, and tested at various racetracks around the world, the ATS is looking to make a big splash in the sport sedan market.

Cadillac is prepping a new member to its stable. No, it’s not the Nurburgring-tested ATS we’ve heard oh-so much about. It’s also not the XTS flagship sedan that Cadillac has desperately needed these past few years. In fact, it’s not a car at all.

Cadillac has released a dozen or so new photos of its upcoming 2013 ATS sedan along with a new video showing off its lightweight chassis, further teasing us about the new model that hasn’t even had its pricing announced yet.
