This week’s subject for Five Point Inspection is the 2013 Ford Mustang, equipped with the 3.7L V6 and performance package. Like a car review written in jot note form, we detail five particular attributes of a vehicle to highlight those we like and those we don’t like.

Fans of the raging Roush-modified Ford vehicles will be pleased to know the performance tuner has another fire-breather on the way soon — the 2013 Roush Stage 3 Mustang.

When it goes on sale this month, the package won’t beat the legendary Shelby GT500, but it will boosts performance to 565 hp and 505 lb-ft of torque — well beyond the Boss 302.

Stacking the Mustang up to that level is no easy task. Roush achieves the venerable feat by installing a supercharger capable of high speeds to deliver significantly increased power.

Lost fans might be a little disappointed in the new Alcatraz TV show, but it appears that the season finale will have a lot more excitement to it. 

Ford will be running a new Mustang commercial at this weekends upcoming Daytona 500, though the ad is already available online.

The company says that most Mustang purchases stem from the car’s exterior looks and the options available for customization. Giving individual color choice, style, and engine options is the new Mustang ad’s theme.

As the car cruises, it changes form based on whoever happens to be ogling it at that moment, becoming whatever that person desires.

The spot does take a weird turn near then end, when a little girl in a tutu gets a glance. Rather than her wanting a bright pink fluffy version, she would rather have a blacked out GT500. She also looks a little, um, different in the reflection. Maybe you understand where Ford is going with that one, but we sure don’t. Weird…

Ford officially announced its 2013 Mustang Cobra Jet at the 2011 Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show in Orlando, Florida, ready to roll into NHRA’s Stock and Super Stock classes and start dominating. The 2013 Cobra Jet will be limited to just 50 units and orders can be placed at a local Ford dealer where it’ll be first come, first serve.
