Updated for the 2014 model year, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class proves to be as photogenic as ever in a mega gallery of photos the German automaker recently released.

As Mercedes-Benz gets ready for its product onslaught over the next few years, the German automaker intends to make a big splash this year to kick things off.

While a mid-cycle update and not an all-new model, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class makes a small yet important change to the car’s design, dropping a feature that has characterized its look since 1995.

Though we have seen an undisguised version of the 2014 E63 AMG already, the first official images of the Mercedes E-Class hit the web today.

Mercedes-Benz is giving its popular E-Class model a refresh for the 2014 model year, outfitting its front end with a pair of single-piece headlights rather than the classic quad-headlight design which characterized the cars for years.

The highly anticipated next iteration of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has just been caught testing in these spy photos, shown here in AMG form.

The current generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class has done extremely well for itself, arguably finding a perfect compromise between sporty and luxury. But it appears that the German automaker has found ways to improve upon it and a new, heavily refreshed E-Class is expected to make a debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
