On Independence Day this year, Chevrolet will debut the anthem for its 2014 Silverado pickup, titled “Strong.”

The half-ton truck segment is heating up in 2013, with the introduction of all-new GM pickups, and the anticipation of a new Toyota Tundra, and maybe even a new Nissan Titan.

After seven long years, GM has finally given its lineup of half-ton pickups a refresh, both of which were revealed today.

Chevrolet just unveiled its all-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks in Detroit.

Chevrolet will bring its Silverado pickup to the market in 2014 with a new “High Country” trim level (not shown above) representing the brand’s first true luxury pickup truck. 

The next generation Chevy Silverado is wrapping up its final testing stages at the company’s proving grounds in Yuma, Ariz. and will start production sometime in 2013.

Scheduled to hit dealer lots next year as a 2014 model year is GM’s newly redesigned Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups, but it appears that those two trucks will just be the tip of the iceberg. Now it’s a possibility that GM may be considering extensively redesigning all of their upcoming pickups.
