Ahead of its official debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, Audi Sport has revealed its quattro concept as one stunningly beautiful machine.

Every new auto show brings another exciting round of wild concept cars. But do these ideas ever make it to reality?

The Audi Quattro concept that was shown off two years ago at the Paris Motor Show will never see the light of production, as the German automaker has decided to axe the vehicle.

It’s the time of year when automakers go on a wonderful vacation to Paris and show off the latest and greatest vehicles. The Paris Motor show is here, and there are quite a few vehicles that are slated to be revealed this year.

It’s one of those concept cars that you really wish they’d make. And it looks like our wished might just come true with Audi development boss Stefan Reil commenting that the Quattro Concept unveiled at the Paris Auto Show is undergoing a thorough evaluation for a limited production run.

6 speeds. 5 cylinders. 4 wheels putting power to the ground. The Audi Quattro Concept is everything we could ever want from the 4-ringed brand, but unfortunately, it’s still a concept car at this stage.

The Quattro concept weighs in at around 3,000 lbs is moved by a 5-cylinder turbo motor, producing 408 horsepower and 354 lb-ft through a 6-speed manual gearbox and a quattro all-wheel-drive system. Inside, Sparco seats and an MMI system with a built-in rally computer help keep the driver planted.

The car is said to pay homage to the Ur-Quattro of the 1980s, that dominated rally stages across the globe. We think it’s a fitting tribute, and can’t wait to see it for sale.
