The BMW 1 Series M Coupe will be remembered as an amazing sports car despite being rushed through its development. Its successor however, will be built the way BMW wants a M coupe to be built.

It’s the second day of AutoGuide’s Dream Car Garage list. This time News Editor Luke Vandezande compiled his list of the 10 cars, a word used loosely at points, that he would pick if money weren’t a factor.

For years now, G-Power has been churning out high-horsepower BMW s from its tuning factory, and the newest creation is its take on the sporty 1M model.

While the rest of the world has been enjoying BMW’s M Performance models, America will finally be treated to its first of the new performance machines in 2014 with the debut of the M235i coupe.

In what it calls the performance version of the 1 Series for 2013, the BMW 135is coupe and convertible were released today costing $44,145 and $48,845 respectively. 

Last month we reported the top 10 cars with the highest percentage of female owners, and now we have a less-than-surprising list of top 10 cars with the highest percentage of male buyers. The list is courtesy InsideLine with the data provided by Polk and reflects total purchases made last year in 2011.

We also knew its life on the production line would be very short. Now, after just one year of production, BMW has stopped taking orders of this ultra special 1-series. The factory will now just fulfill the orders already placed, and it plans to have all of those ready by this summer.

BMW is starting to take a liking to blurring out the vital parts and trying to tease us about what’s next on the horizon from the German automaker. First it was the X6 M Diesel that got teased, and now BMW is showing off its M Performance Parts for their 1-Series hatchback model.

Now to be clear, this isn’t the 1M, but rather a standard 1-Series that has been outfitted with M Performance Parts to spice it up. The Bavarian automaker announced that they have intentions of expanding their M Performance range, releasing variants of all their vehicles packed with M Performance Parts.

This isn’t entirely new or revolutionary from BMW, having offered M Sport packages in the past. This video teases the products that BMW has for the 1-Series hatchback which appears to feature M Performance interior accessories, a body kit, exterior logos, and M-badged brake calipers. It’ll be more interesting to see whether or not we’ll see a M 135 or something similar to the M Performance Diesel models that were recently announced.

Whittled down from all the cars in the world, a group of 66 automotive journalists from across the globe have released their top 10 picks for the 2012 World Car of the Year and World Performance Car.

Those guys over at Autobild sure know how to have some fun. They decided to do grab every current  BMW M model  and pit them off against one another at Germany’s Sachsenring track in Bernsdorf.

Seeing large American V8 motors transplanted into race cars is nothing new, but a Chevy V8 in a BMW 1M? Now that’s a bit strange, especially considering BMW’s 1M has a pretty potent engine in its twin-turbocharged 3.0L inline-six with 335-hp and 332 lb-ft of torque.

What’s new to talk about with the BMW 1 Series M Coupe? Nothing. So why are we talking about it? We’re not. Rather, we’re drooling over a stunning selection of new photos BMW has released of the car.

Two knucklehead dealership technicians decided to borrow a  BMW 1 Series M Coupe and put it through its paces. What makes the video even more painful to watch is that the technicians have no sympathy for the car’s delicate break in period.

Interstingly, members of the 1Addicts forum managed to narrow down the location of the joyride and trace it back to Pacific BMW in Southern California. Fortunetly the car had not been sold yet, and the dealership asking price was a whopping $20,000 over MSRP.

Once the driver knew the heat was on, he attempted to cover his tracks by removing the video from his account, but someone had already made a copy. The BMW abuser has apparently been fired by the dealer after forum members reached out in outrage. Furthermore, local city spokesman Tom Lorenz also indicated that local law enforcement is investigating the technician in regards to the obviously unsafe and illegal speeds obtained during the joyride in residential neighbourhoods.

AC Schnitzer has officially revealed details of its tuning program for BMW‘s new 1M Coupe, and is set to officially debut the car at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show next month. AC Schnitzer’s take on the BMW 1M (at least initially) has a focus on aesthetics, brakes and suspension, leaving the powerplant untouched. It’s only a matter of time before a power package is released.

Improving on the already awesome BMW 1M could be a daunting task, but RevoZport and CP Engineering teamed up to make one complete and awesome package for the sports coupe. With the goal of improving the 1M’s power-to-weight ratio and its aerodynamics, the two companies went to work focusing on function over form.
