At it’s past Palm Beach auction, Collector Car Auction powerhouse Barrett-Jackson experimented with a free app for the iPhone and iPod touch, in an effort to make the events, news and featured vehicles more accessible than ever before. The trial proved a success and now; Barrett-Jackson has officially released its own app.

At the recent Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction, the very first Corvette Z06 Carbon limited edition model hit the block, fetching $297,000 – roughly triple the sticker price. Along with tacking possession of a very limited edition (just 500 units) Corvette, the unnamed owner will also be given a tour of GM’s Performance Build Center in Wixom, Mich., where the LS7 and LS9 engines in the Z06 and ZR1 are assembled by hand, and be able to watch the car be assembled at the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, Ky.
