Manhart Racing Builds 724-HP BMW M3 V8RS

For some people, BMW‘s E92 M3 coupe is a near-perfect vehicle. It offers great looks, a BMW driving experience, luxury, sportiness and the unmistakable performance that only an M-series can offer. But to some, 420-hp out of the M3’s V8 might not be enough to satisfy their needs. That’s where Manhart Racing comes in, transplanting the M3’s much bigger brother’s X6M powerplant into the sport coupe chassis. That’s right, the thrill of a twin turbo M3 coupe can now be experienced.

By replacing the M3’s V8 with BMW’s X6M powerplant, Manhart Racing was able to squeeze plenty of extra horsepower thanks to its twin turbo forced induction. With some ECU modifications and a new exhaust, the M3 puts out 724-hp and 641 ft-lbs of torque.

To back up the power, Manhart Racing also added some carbon fiber components, suspension upgrades, and a lightweight set of BBS wheels.

BMW M3 Performance Exhaust Option Now Available, Sounds Awesome [Video]
Most people would agree that the current BMW M3 with its rorty V8 motor sounds pretty good, but that doesn’t mean it could not be improved upon.

Now, BMW’s M-division has now created a new performance exhaust for the M3, which not only sounds better, but is also lighter than the standard exhaust system because it is made from Inconel – the same substance used for F1 race car exhausts. This system is 20% lighter than the standard exhaust, and since it has a free-flow setup the engine sounds even better than it already does.

It’s not a cheap upgrade though. This new exhaust will cost $4,374 and that doesn’t include installation.

However, what if you can’t afford an M3 right now? Not to worry, BMW is offering this incredible sound as a ringtone through the following link: bmwusa.com/news.

BMW M3 Tiger Edition Video Released; Master Splinter Edition Coming For Year Of The Rat

BMW has released a Jurassic Park-esque video of its new BMW M3 Tiger Edition. The video doesn’t show us much, other than that the marketing department in China has a little too much time and money on their hands.

The Tiger Edition, as you all know by now, is an M3 designed to commemorate the Year of the Tiger, with special orange paint, blacked out wheels and a Tiger motif on the head rests.

We can’t wait for the Year of the Rat to come around, so we can have a purple M3 Master Splinter Edition (expert artists rendering above) with a rat motif throughout the car.
