A manufacturer of unique driving shoes is back in business thanks to Canadian Tire.

Winter-tire technology is advancing at a rapid rate. Today’s winter rubber is so superior to snow tires of yesteryear that the two can’t even be compared. This is great news for those who live in regions with nasty winter weather as more and more passenger vehicles are rolling off of showroom floors with summer tires or low rolling-resistance tires, neither of which are well suited to handle the white stuff.

Several years ago NASCAR headed North and crossed the border into Canada, with the Nationwide series running on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in downtown Montreal. Now it appears as though NASCAR may be signing a second venue just outside the nation’s largest city.

North of the border automotive retail giant Canadian Tire has announced a long-term partnership with Mosport International Raceway. The famed motor racing circuit located near Bowmanville, Ontario, east of Toronto, hosts the only Canadian round of the American Le Mans Series (shown above).

Those Canadians have to put a lot of thought into their tires. Seasonal weather conditions alone are enough to make their heads spin. So how do they pick a tire that’s right for their car?
