One of the benefits of having a turbocharged powertrain is all its untapped performance, and Ford is looking to put that into the hands of the owners.

By 2015, Ford plans on having 95 percent of its North American lineup powered by its turbocharged EcoBoost lineup. 

Since Ford launched its EcoBoost engine lineup in 2009, the American automaker has sold over 500,000 EcoBoost-powered vehicles worldwide.

For decades, we’ve known Ford crate engines to be huge V8 powerplants packing plenty of cubic inches and power. But Ford has been quietly offering a 2.0L inline-four from its old Focus for midget racers but very few even paid attention to that option.
