It didn’t take long for rumors surrounding the future BMW– Toyota sports car to start flying.

The third cooperative effort between American EV manufacturer Tesla and Daimler, one of its major shareholders, will most likely come in the form of a plug-in  Mercedes-Benz B-Class.

Power in the BMW 5 and 6 Series will increase in 2013 thanks to a little technology sharing between the two models’ flagship big brother, the 7 Series. 

There will be no model made to slot under the Boxster (pictured above) in terms of price or size according to Bernhard Maier, head of Porsche sales and marketing.

Along with the “regular” freshened 7-Series, BMW has announced an updated Alpina B7 version. Scheduled to make its official North American debut later this year at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the new B7 receives a number of improvements.

Set to take on the Audi RS3 and BMW M135i, neither of which are available in North America, Mercedes has reportedly confirmed details of its upcoming premium hot-hatch, which will wear the A45 AMG badge.

Already suspected to be in the works for 2013, Mercedes-Benz confirmed that it will replace the aging 3.0-liter V6 in its C300 4Matic sedan with a detuned version of the 3.5-liter direct-injected V6 already found in the more powerful C350. 

Patent images surfacing online suggest BMW might be exploring the idea of a seven-speed manual transmission, which is believable considering Porsche already offers one in its 911.   

After the reveal of the new 911 at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year Porsche has been busy prepping the rest of the range, with these recent spy photos showing the soon-to-be-announced 911 Carrera 4S.

Taking knowledge learned competing with its GT3 race car and bringing it to the street, Mercedes-Benz has revealed the new 2013 SLS AMG GT.

Details about the 2013 Porsche 911 line are expected to be revealed at or before this year’s Paris Auto Show, but fuel milage numbers  for the Carrera 4 and 4S are now available online.

Slated to go on sale in the U.S., Europe and other markets this fall, the special VW Beetle Fender Edition made the jump from concept to reality thanks to a warm reception after its debut in Frankfurt last year.

Marking the first time an AMG car will complete in a pro racing series in North America in over 20 years, Evosport and MBBS Racing have revealed a purpose-built Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black Series Race Car.

The Volkswagen Scirocco might make its way to America next year, but until then all we can do is be jealous of the Europeans who get to buy the newly announced Volkswagen Scirocco GTS. 

Back by popular demand, the 2013 BMW M6 will sport an optional 6-speed manual transmission.
