Volkswagen has taken the wraps off its latest retro electric concept and this one takes its cues from the Meyers Manx. Named the I.D. BUGGY for obvious reasons, the concept comes sans roof with waterproof upholstery, and with 200 hp going to the back wheels.

Fresh off a trademarking spree last week, Volkswagen is again calling dibs on a name relating to electric vehicles. The latest is “Elli” with a stylized lightning bolt next to it (pictured below).

Volkswagen will be introducing a production crossover based on the I.D. Crozz concept to the North American market, which is making its U.S. debut in L.A. right now.

With the electric MEB platform essentially being a skateboard onto which Volkswagen can lay any body, designers in Wolfsburg are looking back through the ages for inspiration for the next EV concept.

We’ve long known that VW planned on releasing more electric concepts than the three currently in existence and now, thanks to a leaked slide from a presentation, we have a better idea of what they will be.
