JE Design Delivers Impressive Widebody Kit for the New Volkswagen Touareg
A little sad that you’re stuck with a Volkswagen Touareg now that you’re a family man and having to haul around your kids to their weekend soccer games? Variety is the spice of life, and JE Design has released a very clean widebody kit for the new VW Touareg that does a fantastic job transforming the mundane commuter to a (surprisingly) good looking SUV.
JE Design Goes Widebody On Audi Q7 S-Line
What’s that you say? You’re tired of news about modified versions of the BMW X6? Well we have a treat in store for you! JE Design has transformed the Audi Q7 to a menacing SUV that could possibly rival BMW’s X6 in the looks department. But even with a 20 percent increase in horsepower (from 233-hp to 285-hp), JE Design’s Audi Q7 can’t keep up with a stock X6.
But let’s focus on the widebody exterior with a custom body kit from JE Design. It isn’t reserved for just the S-Line model, but will fit any Q7 body, except for the W12 TDI. The 12-piece wheel arches are $3,500 and the rear bumper extension is $2,335 while front spoilers can be sold separately for widebody or non-widebody applications for $900. For accessories there are eyelids (headlight covers) for $130 and a rear spoiler for $1,425.
The horsepower upgrade comes from the new ECU that’s available for $1,945 and includes a one-year warranty on the motor, turbocharger, gearbox and drivetrain. This warranty can be extended an additional year for just $260.
To round everything off, there is an electronic lowering kit for $1,850 offering a 1.4-inch drop. To fill the wider and larger wheel wells are 22×10-inch wheels with 295/30/22 tires for a hefty $6,740. Interestingly enough though, JE Design simply uses spacers to push the wheels out instead of doing a wider, more aggressive offset applications. Those spacers cost more too – a little lame in our book.
But hey, if you’re looking to beef up your Q7 to keep up with the looks of newer models from other automakers, perhaps this is an option for you!

JE Design Puts Volkswagen Golf R Power Into GTI
OK we just wanted another excuse to mention Volkswagen‘s Golf R in a post. And even though this isn’t even a Golf R, it packs the same punch under the hood. JE Design has come up with a nice little package for the Volkswagen Golf GTI to up the horsepower to 270-hp while adding its own take with more aggressive styling.
Taking the stock 2.0-liter turbocharged motor, JE Design pushes out another 60-hp from 210-hp to 270-hp. Torque goes from roughly 205 ft-lbs to a little over 270 ft-lbs. The 0-60 mph time is now a tick shy of 6.4 seconds. This all stems from an ECU retune for close to $2,000 and even includes a one year warranty on the motor, turbocharger, gearbox and drivetrain. Warranty extensions are offered for vehicles under two years old with less than 62,000 miles (100,000 km) for only a little over $250.
And to help enhance the aesthetics, JE Design offers a front spoiler with a carbon fiber splitter ($445), side skirts ($380) and a rear diffuser ($320). In the grand scheme of things, that’s a very affordable body kit for a stylish vehicle. They also offer an exhaust system for close to $1,150.
For those wanting to round off the package, 1.4-inch lowering springs are available for around $200 and a set of 19×8-inch wheels with 225/35/19 tires round it off at $3,730.
The total package price is a small chunk of change, but still makes it more affordable to turn your Golf GTI into one with R power and unique looks.
