Porsche doesn’t need some shlub like me to review its products. They’re going to sell tens of thousands of vehicles every year regardless of what I say, all while making untraceable sums of money. “Hello, Switzerland? Yes, I’d like to open a checking account.”

Let’s say you need a crossover, something with decent interior space and all-wheel drive, but you can’t bear the thought of piloting a vehicle as mainstream as, say, a Toyota RAV4 or Chevy Equinox.

Crossovers are hot, even high-priced luxury models. Two comparable rivals are the Porsche Macan GTS and Audi SQ5, in fact you could say they’re rival siblings, both being offered by the gigantic Volkswagen Group.

The road was ours, all of it. Two twisting, undulating lanes of asphalt providing the room needed to follow a proper racing line on our trip to the clouds.

Making its debut at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, the Porsche Macan GTS has been officially announced with 360 horsepower.
