Mercedes-Benz might be the next German automaker to stop offering diesel engines in the U.S.

A lawsuit has been filed in the U.S. over Mercedes-Benz’s alleged use of a defeat device on diesel cars that allows them to cheat on emissions tests. 

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its next-generation diesel engine, a new four-cylinder unit that will debut in the E-Class.

Diesel is making a comeback in North America and there are more than a few cars out there outfitted with torquey, yet fuel efficient engines.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), certain 2011 and 2012 Mercedes BlueTec diesel may have a possible fuel leak, which can actually lead to fires.
