Nissan has reiterated that plans to bring out a small sports car to compete with the Mazda MX-5 and Toyota 86 have been put on hold. 

Even though the Nissan IDx Concept received a strong positive reception, it won’t be coming to market, at least not in its original configuration. 

Nissan and Infiniti are putting a focus on volume products rather than pushing for new, cutting-edge sports cars.

If you love the Nissan IDx concepts’ radical retro styling, prepare to be disappointed.

The fate of a new small Nissan sports car and the next-generation Cube are still undecided. 

Nissan’s sporty new IDx concepts will be making a three-day tour across Southern California starting on January 31.
