For the 15th time in history, the Chevrolet Corvette will be the official pace car of the Indianapolis 500.

Today the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport was announced as the official pace car for the 2017 Indianapolis 500 later this month.

It’s still taking its sweet time to arrive North American dealerships, but this sports car will be this season’s official safety car for the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC).

Created for the upcoming Need For Speed movie, the customized Ford Mustang seen above will pace the season finale Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 17.
