The modern automatic car wash isn’t exactly the best thing for your paint if you care about your car.

SEMA is filled with insane builds, some of them are tasteful while others…well, aren’t.

Apparently the auto market is increasingly looking like an eight-bit grayscale, with the vast majority of new vehicles sold these days finished in a less-than-exciting quartet of colors.

Liveries are like uniforms for racecars. These special paint and graphics packages are designed to make a team’s vehicle instantly recognizable, they can also make a statement or even honor the past.

When it comes to cars, the color green isn’t just to signify eco-friendly anymore.

The first thing anyone notices about a car is its paint color, which is why it’s so important for a new brand like SRT to get it right.

Capitalizing on what is arguably a dwindling market segment, Dodge will offer the 2013 Challenger with two heritage colors: Plum Crazy (purple) and HEMI orange.

Everyone has seen old hippy van painted to the nines or cars with wacky paint jobs driving down the street but you’ve probably never seen cars like this.

This type of art became popular enough in the last few decades for art car shows to materialize. BMW has been involved in art cars since the mid-1970s getting Andy Warhol and Sandro Chia to paint a piece for the gallery. The first BMW art car was a 3.0-liter CSL painted by Alexander Calder in 1975. BMW canvases have included the M1, Z1, E34 and E36.

Custom paint has always been a staple of modifying a car. Over the years trends have come and gone, many of them debuting from Tokyo such as Maziora or “color changing” paint. We ran across this pair of cars with a paint style we have yet to see.
