Recall Notice: Dodge Recalls 186,000 Ram Heavy Duty Models With Cummins Turbo Diesel

Chrysler has announced that it is recalling a total of 186,099 Heavy-Duty Dodge Ram trucks. All of the vehicles in question are 2007-09 models and all are powered by the 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel. The recall is actually related to the engine itself – specifically revolving around tuning and emissions. A trouble code in the EMS system can trigger a check engine light, which can cause the fuel mixture to be enriched, resulting in black soot from the exhaust system and potential damage to the turbocharger and Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve.

Recall Notice: Ford Recalling 2010 Explorer Sport Trac for Faulty Seat Recliner

According to sources, Ford will start recalling affected Sport Tracs immediately (before April 30) and customers who currently own one of these trucks can contact the automaker if they have questions or concerns at 866-436-7332 or call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hot line at 888-327-4236.

Mahindra Pickup: On-Sale Date Still Uncertain

Indian vehicle manufacturer Mahindra, has reportedly completed testing to ensure it’s compact, diesel powered pickup will meet US Federal emissions requirements. The vehicles will be available in regular and crew-cab configuration, are expected to be priced at around $22,000 and will boast a 1.3 ton payload capacity. But while smog testing might have been completed, according to Mahindra’s stateside distributor, Global Vehicles USA, the company has yet to settle on an official on-sale date.

Ram Brand Offers Factory Spray-on Bed Liner for Pickups

Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Priced at $38,995

Ford has yet to officially set pricing for the 2010 F-150 SVT Raptor, but Pickuptrucks.com is reporting that the truck will start at $38,995. Ford apparently shared the info with select media attending the Terrible’s 250 at Primm off-road race.
