The Toyota Prius family was the most popular vehicle line in the state of California for the second year in a row.

Toyota has announced that its Prius vehicle has passed the three million unit mark in global sales.

According to a new study from a social analytics company, the Toyota Prius was the most talked about hybrid vehicle online.

Toyota will bring three new green models to market in 2012, including the second model in the Prius family. Toyota has confirmed it will expand the Prius name into its own brand, but it’s not yet clear if the second model in the range will be the much-rumored Prius Alfa MPV or if it will be a smaller model based on the FT-CH Concept that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
