The W Motors Lykan Hypersport costs $3.4 Million dollars (US), bumping the Bugatti Veyron Super Sports as the most expensive car in the world.

The production variant of the Volkswagen XL1 has been spied cold-weather testing in -22 Fahrenheit temperatures as the German automaker put its 235-mpg diesel-hybrid car to the test.

Last month, we caught glimpses of the Volkswagen XL1 being tested, and now reports are coming out of the 2012 Paris Motor Show that confirm the XL1 will head to dealerships in limited quantities next year.

Volkswagen is looking to introduce a new standard for fuel economy with the XL1, a fuel  sipper expected to get up to 235 mpg, and our spy photographers managed to grab some photos of an XL1 prototype testing today. 

Bugatti is paying homage to its founder, Ettore Bugatti, by bringing a custom yellow and black Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport to the 2012 Qatar Motor Show. The horizontally-split yellow body with black carbon represents Ettore Bugatti’s favorite colors and shows of Bugatti’s continued tradition off different color schemes and materials to create unique cars.

Mercedes-Benz has just unveiled a special edition G55 AMG SUV at this year’s Qatar Motor Show. Dubbed the Mercedes G-Class Arabia 100 Limited Edition, the G55 has a (you guessed it) limited edition run of just 100 units and will be available in either Cashmere White or Nightblack.

You know the saying, “as American as apple pie”? Well, in Qatar they say, “as Qatar-ian(?) as a modified SUV.” OK, maybe not, but wealthy Middle-Easterners really know how to blow their oil-soaked money: like on the Invader L60.

Take the Volkswagen Touareg for example. The one that races in the Dakar Rally has little in common with the one you’ll find in the showrooms. That, however, could change if they decide to put the Race Touareg 3 concept into production.

Ahead of its debut at the Qatar Motor Show, Volkswagen has unveiled a a new version of its 1L (1 Liter) car, bringing the company’s goal of delivering a production vehicle that can travel 100 km (62 miles) on a single liter of diesel fuel. The XL1 Prototype, achieves 0.9 l/100 km, or 261-mpg.
