Fourteen years ago, a group of online friends, many of whom had never met in person before, gathered in Manhattan.

The call came in at 11:30 p.m. on a Friday night. A rich southern tycoon, who I’ll refer to as Mr. Moneybags to avoid a lawsuit, was on the other end of the line.

Another successful Rally North America (RNA) event has come and gone. The last of the stragglers have finally made their way home and 75 cars are getting a well-deserved rest.
