Lexus intends to drum up excitement across its 2012 lineup by offering a series of limited edition models. Lexus has massaged its LS flagship with a sport-tuned air suspension as well as a 19-inch 10 spoke wheels and Brembo brakes. The interior receives sport seats at the front and a two tone leather trim throughout. This Lexus LS460 Sport Special Edition is expected to cost over $77,000.
From the moment Lamborghini made its foray into sports car manufacturing, they have been masters of stunning the audience. It is exciting to hear, then, that the recent masterpiece from the Raging Bull, the Sesto Elemento, will not be the last of the hyper-limited edition Lamborghinis to be built.
Creatively named the Fiat 500 by Gucci, the car is customized by Frida Giannini, the creative director of Gucci. The introduction of this special edition which features a Gucci inspired interior and some unique stripes, coincides with the 150th anniversary of Italy’s unification and also the 90th anniversary of the Gucci brand.
Taking a page from the Ford Mustang playbook, GM is set to launch a torrent of Chevrolet Camaro special editions on a bi-annual basis. After the Camaro ZL1 will be a special edition Camaro based on the car set to appear in the newest Transformers movie, followed by a replica Indy 500 pace car, and then a Camaro Synergy model, which will give V6 buyers all of the V8s performance upgrades sans the small-block mill – sort of like the previous Camaro RS models.
BMW has released a Jurassic Park-esque video of its new BMW M3 Tiger Edition. The video doesn’t show us much, other than that the marketing department in China has a little too much time and money on their hands.
The Tiger Edition, as you all know by now, is an M3 designed to commemorate the Year of the Tiger, with special orange paint, blacked out wheels and a Tiger motif on the head rests.
We can’t wait for the Year of the Rat to come around, so we can have a purple M3 Master Splinter Edition (expert artists rendering above) with a rat motif throughout the car.
