Hertz has expanded its Prestige and Adrenaline Collections, now offering the Cadillac CTS, Chevy Camaro SS Convertible and Corvette Convertible for rental in 2012.

Chevrolet is doing it big at the 2011 SEMA Show as it will releases multiple Camaros and Corvettes this year. Chris Perry, the vice president of Chevrolet global marketing and strategy, says, “Go to any Corvette or Camaro enthusiast event and you will have a hard time finding a factory-stock vehicle. These are cars that owners treat as canvases to express their personalization and high-performance dreams– and have been for decades. The SEMA Show is the perfect venue to test new customization concepts and to inspire new owners to start modifying their cars.”

After a series of lukewarm SS models in the past undermined the public’s impression of the moniker (Malibu Maxx SS, anyone?), Chevrolet now vows to reserve the SS badge for high performance models only. It will not be stamped onto the performance trim Chevrolet Sonic.

General Motors has confirmed that the 2012 Chevrolet Impala will be powered by a 302-hp V6 when it debuts later this year. The full-size four-door will come with a 3.6-litre V6 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and puts out 252 lb-ft of torque in standard trim.
