Chevrolet is trickling its fuel saving technology down to the 2.5-liter Malibu sedan by adding engine start-stop technology.

For the most part, if you’re getting behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, the last thing on your mind is fuel efficiency. So why might the great American sports car end up with stop-start engine technology?

ZF, a leader in automotive tranmissions, has announced a new nine-speed automatic gearbox for passenger cars. This gearbox was designed for a transverse mounted engine and will provide up to 16 percent better fuel economy compared to a six-speed automatic transmission.
