Tesla made a lot of noise about a surprise debut coming to the inaugural Grand Basel auto show in Switzerland.

Whenever something makes news online, you can bet there will be memes made about it.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX successfully launched its Falcon Heavy rocket at 3:45 p.m. today, carrying Musk’s personal Tesla Roadster into space with the goal of putting it into Mars’ orbit.

When the Tesla Roadster arrives in 2020, it could be one of, if not the fastest electric performance cars on offer. We say ‘one of’ because Tesla isn’t alone here – there are a few companies with some very exciting performance EVs in the pipeline.

The 2020 Tesla Roadster has already made quite the statement with its claimed zero-to-60 mph time of 1.9 seconds.

At an event where Tesla unveiled something big in a new all-electric big rig, the brand also took the chance to reinvent its smallest car, the Tesla Roadster. 

With the Tesla Model S and Tesla Model X now defining the brand, it’s weird to look back at the Lotus-based Tesla Roadster knowing the little two-seater is what kicked off the Tesla craze.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confirmed that a new Tesla Roadster will eventually turn up and these renders have arrived to try to predict the future styling of the car. 

Tesla Roadster owners don’t have to be envious of Model S owners and their range in the near future.

Current Tesla Roadster can look forward to an increase to their vehicle’s driving range.
