Earlier this month, Mercedes-Benz unveiled its SLS AMG Black Series model boasting a 6.3-liter V8 powerplant with 622 hp and 468 lb-ft of torque.

Time lapse videos are probably the new cool thing on the Internet, and this one showcasing AMG Performance Studio customizing a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG proves why.

AMG Performance Studio wanted to show off just what they can do our in Affalterbach and at the same time, let their potential customers know how involved their customizations can be when ordering an AMG vehicle. By starting with a stock, glossy red SLS AMG, the Performance Studio meticulously disassembles the car, transforms the exterior of the vehicle to a matte Yosemite Blue finish, outfits it with a new set of wheels and redoes the entire interior to match the new exterior color scheme.

Thought it was cool to see a BMW Z4 GT3 race car get built through the eyes of a time lapse video? The guys over at Top Gear and BBC decided to show why they’re still kings in the business of anything automotive related by catching footage of an Ariel Atom 3 being built, in time lapse fashion of course.

What is most impressive about the video is the actual build time of the Ariel Atom 3: 24 hours. As a result, the video is consolidated into 1 minute and 26 seconds of awesome.

Ever wondered what it takes to fully assemble a GT3 race car? Now’s your chance to find out. Team West Coast Racing put together a really nifty video, consolidating over 600 man hours into just 3 minutes of 39 seconds

The video starts with a bare chassis that arrived from BMW Motorsport, with everything else in pieces. Team West Coast Racing from Sweden then takes their time assembling the entire car and we get a great insider’s look of all the intricate work and details put into a proper race car.

One thing we did find odd is how the majority of the work is done by one person and one person only, which we guess is understandable so that everything is done properly and at least someone is responsible if something goes awry.
