Toyota motorsports partner Gazoo Racing has fielded plenty of Toyota GT86s in different racing series around the world and now they’ve taken what they’ve learned and applied it to the street.

It comes as no surprise to hear that Toyota is working to generate more power for its popular 86 model, known as the Scion FR-S in America. The latest report does, however, contradict past rumors of a turbocharged engine, instead pointing towards something larger under the hood.

Giving us a preview of the Scion FR-S Convertible, Toyota has officially unveiled its FT-86 Open Concept today at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.

Leaked ahead of its official unveiling at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show is the Toyota GT 86 Open Concept, a convertible variant of the North American Scion FR-S.
