The Nissan GT Academy is back for a second season on television, and once again the Japanese automaker is challenging some of America’s top video gamers to see if they have what it takes to be professional racing drivers.

The SRT Viper GTS-R hasn’t exactly had great luck on the track, but hopefully it’ll fare a lot better in the virtual racing world of Forza Motorsport 4.

You don’t need any design experience to play the game, so even noobies can get in on the fun.

Grand Theft Auto, the last word in automotive mischief, is back with its fifth installment. While previous video games in the franchise often follow the rise of a lowly thug making his way up to mob boss, Five follows an older, wealthier, and retired gangster who has chosen to move to a new town and start anew as a family man.

However, if there’s ever a truth in the land of GTA, it’s that trouble will always come looking for you. Check out Rockstar Game’s trailer of Grand Theft Auto V, featuring an obligatory cops and robbers chase scene with an awesome Aston Martin-looking power-retractable hardtop sports car.

We’ve seen Jeremy Clarkson review some of the most beautiful and exotic cars ranging from the Bugatti Veyron to the classic Jaguar E-Type. We’ve also seen him review some of the most hideous cars like the Reliant Robin, but military vehicles? From a video game? This is a first.

Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson will be spicing up Forza Motorsport 4 with a featured role in the XBOX 360 game. With the game ready for release in October, this commercial has been released featuring the high tech M12 FAV Warthog from Halo, and the witty Jeremy Clarkson. Now gamers and auto enthusiasts are getting the best of both worlds. Interestingly, the Warthog won’t be the only vehicle that will receive Clarkson’s review. Apparently the game’s Autovista model will introduce players to a wide variety of unique vehicles.

In the short commercial, Jezza approaches the imaginary assault vehicle with his typical sarcasm and dry sense of humor, that we’ve come to know and love from his fantastic TV show. Check out the video after the jump to see the tank like all-terrain vehicle.

Ken Block and Tanner Foust are becoming household names in the world of motorsports, with Ken Block’s infamous Gymkhana videos and Tanner Foust being on every other automotive television show, rally race and former Formula Drift champion. Both are stars in their own way and both drivers have a cult fan following while campaigning their Ford Fiestas through motorsports mayhem.

This time around both Foust and Block (and their Fiestas) star in a promotional video for the upcoming DiRT 3 video game in a wicked, virtual gymkhana battle. And while DiRT 3’s Gymkhana mode has mostly been revolved around the presence of Ken Block, there’s no denying Foust’s presence after beating Block at the invitational Gymkhana Grid.

We’ll all be looking forward to campaigning either one of these awesome machines virtually on May 24th, when DiRT 3 is released.

The world of video games is full of competition, and getting the exclusivity to a feature helps get you a leg up on the competition. Now that Gran Turismo 5 is on sale (and receiving awesome patch updates) the world of console racing games is wide open. What can other video game developers possibly come up with to rival the fame of Gran Turismo 5? How about getting the exclusivity to include Pagani’s Huayra?

Shift 2 Unleashed, part of the Need for Speed series, will be the only racing game that will offer the ability to drive Pagani’s Huayra, virtually of course. We’ll be curious how the game executes simulating 700-hp out of a carbon-titanium monocoque chassis.

Shift 2 Unleashed will be available on March 29th in North America and April 1st in Europe.

With all the publicity Ken Block has created with his Gymkhana videos, and now more recently the Gymkhana Grid events, it’s no surprise that the digital video game world has embraced it as well. Given the popularity of the Gran Turismo series (and even Forza Motorsport) we can’t say we’re a bit surprised that another popular video game racing series has brought Gymkhana to homes.

DiRT 3 by Codemasters will be featuring a Gymkhana Mode in addition to the traditional off-road racing gameplay. And what better way to show off the upcoming entertainment than with a demo of Ken Block’s Ford Fiesta doing its best job re-enacting one of his videos in the game? Suddenly we have a new game to anxiously wait for a release date on.
