BMW is working on a more powerful, capable, and lighter X5 M.

BMW‘s M isn’t ruling out a possible hybrid four-cylinder powertrain for the future.

The current BMW X5 has been with us since the 2013 model year and a new model is due soon, with the hot M version of the next-gen SUV having recently been spotted at the Nurburgring.

BMW today has debuted the X5 M and X6 M Black Fire Editions – limited-run versions of the SUVs which the automaker says are inspired by its motorsports ventures.

BMW is adding M Performance Parts to its new racetrack-ready SUV lineup.

Where better to reveal a pair of high-performance, luxury crossovers than Los Angeles? This is a market rife with Hollywood moguls, plastic surgeons and investment bankers. Customers like these often demand bodacious styling, bonkers acceleration and boatloads of creature comforts. Fortunately for the elite that call this town home both the 2015 BMW X5 M and X6 M deliver all of this and more.

Contrary to Dunkin’ Donuts’ slogan, America actually runs gasoline, not deep-fried pastries. The dessert peddler may fuel people with freshly brewed coffee and lots of sugar, but when it comes to getting from point “A” to point “B” petrol is just about the only game in town. Giving drivers some much needed diversity in their fuel diets BMW is launching several new diesel-powered vehicles in the U.S.

The next BMW X5 M is currently in its testing phase, as our spy photographers captured a heavily-camouflaged model making its round at the world-famous Nurburgring race track.

We’ve already seen that BMW has updated its X6 M for 2013, and we have good reason to believe that the German automaker will do the same to the X5 M, even though nothing has been formally announced. What has been announce, however, is pricing for both models with the X5 M starting at $88,850 and the X6 M starting at $91,900.

This certainly isn’t the first time we’ve seen chrome-wrapped cars, ( or gold ones) but there is certainly a craze happening out in Russia with the style. And apparently chrome and gold cars come in all shapes and sizes out there including Bentleys, Lamborghinis and various Mercedes-Benzes in various models.

Official pricing for the new BMW X5 M and X6 M has found its way onto the interwebs ahead of the official announcement by BMW. Surprisingly both models, while anything but cheap, are far less expensive than expected. We’d also wager they are less expensive than BMW could charge if it wanted to.

We had expected that BMW would premiere its new X5 M alongisde the X6 M at the New York Auto Show and so we were surprised when only the X6 M took the stage in the Big Apple.
