Abarth 500C and Punto Evo Set to Get Hardest-Core Esseesse Trim Levels

As we suspected when Fiat first launched the Abarth versions of the 500C and Punt Evo, the Italian automaker will soon deliver higher-performance Esseesse trim levels as well. Both models will get more powerful engines, with the Punto Evo’s 1.4-liter turbocharged Multiair increasing from 165-hp to around 180-hp. An even stiffer suspension and more capable brakes will also be included. As for the 500C, it will increase from 138-hp to roughly 160-hp from its non-Multiair 1.4L turbo.

Tokyo Auto Salon 2010: Abarth 500 Esseesse is Small but Wicked

Standing out in stark contrast to all the Japanese cars, and even the other European models at the Tokyo Auto Salon, were two little toys from Fiat tuner/sub-brand Abarth, a 500 and Grande Punto. The hard-core Abarth 500 is a hoped-up version of the Fiat 500 and this particular Abarth is even more extreme thanks to an Esseesse kit.
