It appears Gran Turismo is finally be getting the legendary hill climb course, Pikes Peak, added to the game.

Gran Turismo’s parent company, Polyphony, has held the exclusive rights to the track for seven years. Yes, that's right, seven years. During that time, nothing has ever come from the agreement.

Today however, it appears that might be changing soon. In a statement put out by Hyundai, the brands performance division, Hyundai N, plans to collaborate with Gran Turismo “for various sim-racing activities including Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) participation. More details will come later in this year.

What this means exactly isn’t clear, but Hyundai is desperately overdue to add some new models to the game, and the Elantra N, i30 N, Kona N, Ioniq 5 N, and/or Ioniq 5 N TA would all do nicely. Plus, calling out Pikes Peak directly in the statement makes us think the track must be coming to the game, right? Right?

Gran Turismo has been releasing free new content into the game on a nearly monthly basis for over two years. Yesterday we received a cool Japanese-themed update for May. The updates usually occur towards the end of the month and guess what takes place in late June? The 2024 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

Of course, this is all speculation and we’re probably getting ahead of ourselves. But we can hope and dream, right?
