Toyota Tacoma vs. Land Cruiser: Climbing Canada's Highest Road
The mission: drive the highest road in Canada.
The rides: a 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser and a 2024 Tacoma Trailhunter. Sharing a drivetrain but otherwise quite different in execution, these two hybrid options are meant for off-roading. So what better baptism exists than climbing to the 8,698-foot (2,651-meter) peak of Canoe Mountain in British Columbia? Regular AutoGuide contributor Jeff Wilson set it up; I was just along for the ride.
The adventure highlighted how these two Toyotas go about their missions in different ways. It also provided jaw-dropping view after jaw-dropping view, a reminder of the immense beauty of Canada's West. Oh yeah, and marmots.
