2025 Ford Mustang GTD: All The Details
The high-performance Mustang GTD is set to deliver 815 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful iteration of the pony car to date.
Under the hood, the GTD is equipped with a supercharged 5.2-liter Predator V-8 engine, which originally debuted in the Shelby GT500. For the GTD, this engine includes a dry-sump oiling system, a first for a Mustang, and boasts an increased redline of 7,650 rpm. Power is delivered to the wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, contributing to improved weight balance. Ford highlights that the GTD offers more horsepower per liter than the current Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
In terms of performance, the Mustang GTD is designed to be the fastest Mustang ever, capable of reaching speeds up to 202 mph. It features a sophisticated aero package, including a large rear wing and front diffuser, along with an F1-inspired drag reduction system. These features are expected to enable the GTD to complete a lap of the Nurburgring Nordschleife in under seven minutes, although Ford has not yet released the official lap time.
