If you’ve seen the cult classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off you should know that nothing good ever comes of keeping a car still while revving the engine.

A long while back, Italian exotic automaker Lamborghini made a bold claim that it would have something new for every major auto show. And now reports are coming in that Lamborghini will not just have one, but two debuts at the upcoming 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

Nothing probably irks us more than a bunch of people driving recklessly on the highway, but seeing a fleet of Lamborghinis doing it really makes us shake our heads. From the moment the video starts rolling, we’re anticipating disaster and of course it doesn’t fail to deliver.

It appears that this high speed freeway run took place out in Taiwan, and we don’t feel sorry one bit for the owner considering how many people these drivers also put at risk. Nonetheless, the Gallardo loses control and wrecks on the freeway causing quite a bit of damage to its front end and possibly more. Hopefully no one was hurt in the making of this video.

The #40 of 40 Special Edition Lamborghini Diablo 6.0L VTs ever built will be going up for sale at the upcoming Scottsdale, Arizona Barrett-Jackson auction. Sporting only 12-miles on the odometer, this limited edition Diablo (the last of the final edition Diablos) is practically new.

Whether you’re on the 18-month waiting list and you’re just too impatient to wait or you don’t have the cash to buy one outright, you have the option to drive the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 for a day or a week. But be warned… it will still cost you big bucks.

The Volkswagen Group, which consists of Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini and Porsche brands in America, are looking to become the number one seller of vehicles in the world by 2018. That’s a bold proclamation as they’re currently sitting in the number three position behind Toyota and General Motors.

Although official stats are lacking for this beast, the video footage alone is enough to tell most of the tale.

This fake Lamborghini Diablo looks as impressive as the real thing from the outside, and when you see whats under the hood it begins to look like an enthusiasts wet dream. Outfitted with four turbo units attached to a BMW 5.0L V12 engine, this “Diablo” is a scary powerful machine that probably puts out more horses than anyone could ever want. But it certainly looks cool.

What some people aren’t aware of with contests and sweepstakes is that when you win a car, often you end up having to pay taxes and other fees. While this sure beats having to pay for the car itself, sometimes the taxes and fees are more than someone can handle. This was possibly the case with David Dopp, winner of this lime-green Lamborghini Murcielago.

David Dopp, a truck driver for Frito-Lay in Santaquin, Utah won a $350,000 Lamborghini Murcielago in Maverik’s “Joe Schmo to Lamborghini” contest. Shortly after receiving the vehicle, he posted on his Facebook page that he was already stopped by the cops. Ok, no surprise – the man just won a Lamborghini and drives a chips truck for a living.

But then six hours later, Dopp wrecks his Murcielago, spinning out on an icy road after going 40-50 mph in a 35-mph road. He went right back on Facebook to let all his friends know him and his passenger were safe, no one was hurt (except for the car) and that he has insurance. So that’s where it gets interesting. If the vehicle is totaled, Dopp will get a nice payday from insurance. If it isn’t totaled, well, he just screwed himself and will be stuck with a wrecked and repaired Murcielago with the same amount of taxes to pay.

Now we have to give Dopp the benefit of the doubt and believe he wouldn’t wreck a Lamborghini on purpose – and honestly if he was going to, he should have done a lot more damage. But hey maybe he wanted to play it safe and make sure no one was injured in the process, but we honestly believe he had every intention of keeping it nice and clean so that he could sell it. The accident is probably a result of getting his hands on the steering wheel of a real car.

The Lamborghini Aventador has inspired yet another flashy accessory that fans of the supercar will have to keep an eye out for – the Avenger Vertical Tourbillon Watch.

Rumor has it that Lamborghini has the Roadster variant for its new LP700-4 Aventador ready for production. When it actually makes it to the market will depend on Lamborghini, but a respected source notes that it’ll make a debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show – something that doesn’t really come as a surprise.

Over in the United Kingdom, Hertz has teamed up with Premiere Velocity in order to offer their customers the ability to rent some of the world’s finest exotic supercars. The list of exotics being offered is impressive including Lamborghini‘s LP560-4 Bicolore and Aventador, Porsche‘s Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet, Ferrari‘s 458 Italia, Range Rover‘s Evoque, Mercedes-Benz‘s Brabus S-Class and SLS AMG Roadster, Rolls-Royce’ s Phantom and even McLaren’s MP4.

An bizarre accident over the weekend in Japan severely damaged 14 cars, eight of which were Ferraris. The other vehicles involved in the smash-up include three Mercedes-Benzes, a Lamborghini, a Nissan Skyline and a poor little Toyota Prius. According to the news report, a caravan of foreign car enthusiasts were heading from Hiroshima to Kyushu when one of the Ferrari drivers hit the median while trying to overtake a car on the wet, curved road.

Fortunately no one was seriously hurt in the crash, but it’s a sad sight to see all these exotics demolished the way they are. From what we can tell in the video, there were multiple F355s, F430s, an F360 and some form of an F512. Even worse, the accident shut down the road for six long hours as officials tried to determine exactly what happened.

If there’s one thing you can guarantee in Southern California, it’s the opportunity for a bit of glamor and glitz. Probably not surprising then that Lamborghini, at a very exclusive gathering in Beverly Hills, elected to unveil the latest member of it’s Gallardo family – the LP550-2 Spyder.

If you thought that with the reveal of the Super Trofeo Stradale, Lamborghini was done spinning out versions of the Gallardo, you thought wrong. After a full schedule of press conferences at the 2011 LA Auto Show, Lambo has chosen an off-site venue for a private reveal of the Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder – a drop-top version of the only rear-drive car the company makes.

Audi drivers across the pond are getting the short end of the stick, or to be more precise: no stick at all.

There’s something for everyone at Disney World – even exotic car enthusiasts. While your kids are having a blast on Space Mountain, you can tear up the Walt Disney World Speedway in a luxury supercar.

Lamborghini will reportedly move ahead with production of a LP550-2 Spyder variant, hitting the streets in a few months as a 2012 model year car. Unfortunately there aren’t many details surrounding the Spyder version of the LP550-2 (photo above) except that it will be “more demanding” and a “more emotional and gratifying drive”.

Underground Racing’s Ferrari 458 Italia has been twin-turbocharged and packs 700-whp. Lamborghini‘s Aventador LP700-4 delivers 700-hp from the factory, so obviously it makes perfect sense to pit the two Italian exotics against one another in one awesome video.

Though the “racing” in the video isn’t exactly perfect in terms of judging which vehicle is truly better or faster, it’s worth watching to hear the sonorous note of two if Italy’s finest exotics.

The 458 features Underground Racing’s Stage 1 bolt-on turbo kit taking the factory 562-hp to a 700-whp on 93-octane pump gas. If you’re not aware of just how big a difference there is between 700-hp and 700 horsepower at the wheels, this video should clear things up pretty fast.

Underground Racing has promised a rematch of the two in the near future, just as soon as it preps a twin-turbo setup for the Aventador’s V12.

Volkswagen is experiencing unprecedented levels of success as for the first time in the German automaker’s history, 6.11 million vehicles have been sold in the first nine months of the year. If sales momentum continues, Volkswagen will easily surpass its annual target of 8 million vehicles sold for 2011.

Lamborghini will make a decision on its third model by the end of the year says CEO Stephan Winkelmann, and so far an SUV seems more likely than a super sedan.

When it comes to collector’s items inspired by the Lamborghini Aventador, you may not be able to afford the scale model version, but you may be able pick up the limited edition pen without taking out a second mortgage.

From the moment Lamborghini made its foray into sports car manufacturing, they have been masters of stunning the audience. It is exciting to hear, then, that the recent masterpiece from the Raging Bull, the Sesto Elemento, will not be the last of the hyper-limited edition Lamborghinis to be built.

There’s no denying that the 2012 BMW M5 probably deserves a higher spot on our Frankfurt Auto Show Top 10 list, but here it is anyway. Maybe it’s that we all knew several months ago that it would have a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 and make 562-hp that made its “official” reveal less captivating than it otherwise could have been. Still, don’t let the 10th place spot make you believe we think any less of what is likely to be crowned as the world’s highest performance sedan. After all, the M5 delivers the sort of performance you only expect to see in a concept car. But this is one very real machine.

If you thought a real Lamborghini was expensive, just wait until you see the price tag of one that you can pick up with one hand. The world’s most expensive model car has just been unveiled for a cool $4.8 million and it’s only one-eighth the size of the life-sized Lamborghini.

Taking a love of miniatures to the extreme, the special edition of the Lamborghini Aventador costs 15 times more that the luxury car it’s based on (a full-sized version comes in at an affordable $379,000). Designed by German model maker Robert Gulpen, the model Aventador follows closely in the footsteps of the original. Not only is it spun and milled from carbon fiber, it is also laced with gold thread. Accounting for about $2.7 million of the asking price are the diamonds that adorn the seats, steering wheel and headlights.  “This is a high-tech work of art,” said Gulpen. “I wanted to do something unique, something that has not existed until now.”

The model limited edition Lamborghini Aventador took 500 hours to create, using computer data shared by Lamborghini. It will be auctioned by Southeby’s in December, but if you’ve just got to have it right now, you can buy it for set price of $6.2 million. As the most successful Lamborghini model ever, the Gallardo is getting a solid send-off, with a new limited edition model titled the LP570-4 Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale. Unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show, it takes its styling and light-weight from the Gallardo Super Trofeo racing cars, the engine remains unchanged at 562-hp while the sub-3,000 lb. machine manages a 0-62 mph time of just 3.4 seconds.

Although Lamborghini‘s Sesto Elemento concept was originally designed as a concept, whispers regarding its production-ready nature seemed to start as soon as it was unveiled.

It’s not every day you see a red Lamborghini. In fact, it’s likely you’ve never seen one; and for good reason. It seems that “other” Italian exotic automaker has pretty much cornered the market on that particular shade. Unveiled today at the Frankfurt Auto Show there’s good reason for the choice of the Rosso Mars color insists Lambo CEO Stephan Winkelmann, and no, it’s not just to piss Ferrari off. Rather, it’s used because red is the traditional color of Italian racing cars, and the new Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale, is about as close to a race car as any Lambo street machine has ever been.

Given all the attention the Lamborghini Aventador has been getting of late, it would seem that it’s older sibling, the Gallardo has been left out in the cold.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the exotic automaker’s fashion line, Lamborghini has designed a limited edition Spyder Supreme Diamond Cell Phone. The uber-luxe cell phone dazzles with bling and is the epitome of high-end accessories.

British Columbia Mounties have impounded 13-high end sports cars following an alleged street race in Metro Vancouver on Wednesday afternoon. Around 3:30 pm yesterday afternoon, police received reports of high-end cars racing southbound along Highway 99 in the area of George Massey tunnel.

Lamborghini is always on the cutting edge of what’s new and exciting. So it isn’t a big surprise that the company has taken its accessories line in a new direction. Its new line of bags and luggage is made from carbon fiber – the same material used to make planes, cars and boats.

If you love exotic cars, Italian ones in particular, then Concorso Italiano needs to be on your bucket list. A celebration of all Italian cars, from modern Ferraris and Lamborghinis to more humble Fiats and some very obscure classics. Plus you can always count on a strong contingent of Panteras. Perhaps the star of this year’s show, however, was a Ferrari F50 GT1.

Amid all the historic autos on display at the annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the Concept Lawn is a look at modern works of vehicular art – not all of them concepts either.

Vehicles on display at this year’s event included the the Infiniti Etheria concept, the SSC Tuatara concept and the Lotus Evora GTE Road Car Concept. The SSC car represents the next generation of the Ultimate Aero and will look to take back the title of the world’s fastest production car from Bugatti. As for the Lotus, it’s essentially a look at a possible street-legal track machine, merging the Evora road car and the GTE Le Mans race car together. Yet another concept was the Lexus LF-Gh – a design study that lead to the Pebble Beach reveal of the new 2013 Lexus GS350.

Other highlights included a rolling chassis of the new Lamborghini Aventador, as well as the Jaguar C-X75 concept. See all these, and even more in the video after the jump:

Sitting in stark contrast to the heritage machines on display on the 18th fairway at the Pebble Beach Concours are the assembled exotics on the “Concept Lawn”. The best example of this is the Lamborghini Aventador, which is joined by a rolling chassis of the 700-hp Italian exotic, displaying the ultra-modern technology that makes it such an incredible performance machine.

Like a package of Skittles tossed into a sea of red Ferraris, the presence of Lamborghinis at Concorso Italiano might be small in number, but it’s big in impact.

No you’re not watching an episode of Jersey Shore and yes, Derrick Zoolander would be proud.

Some might furiously mock this Lambo driver, but we’ll look past the tight t-shirt, pumped physique and requisite ball cap and admit that he at least doesn’t take himself too seriously.

Is this how you’re supposed to pump gas in a Lamborghini Murcielago? Even we’ll admit, it’s not the wrong way.

Lamborghini has announced it will unveil a “super sports car” next month at the Frankfurt auto show, with initial rumors suggesting it would be a production version of the Sesto Elemento concept. The latest report, however, suggests that, while similar, the new model will be a version of the Gallardo Super Trofeo race car. The important difference, here, is that while it won’t be as extreme as the carbon-chassis concept, it will be street legal!

What to do with a twin-turbo Lamborghini Gallardo? That’s the question Robert Himler asked himself after getting his Italian exotic back from Underground Racing, once they completed a 1,250-whp build on the car.

Race a jet? Impress the ladies? How about: scare the sh*t out of his mom. And that’ sjust what he did, installing a Go-Pro camera on the dash to document the spirited ride through the city. And the reaction from her is, well, priceless. In fact, it’s quite hilarious, mostly because it’s what we’d expect all our moms to do if we ever had the opportunity to do the same.

Lamborghini recently traveled to South Beach, unveiling its new Aventador LP700-4 model in a new color: matte black. The successor to the Murcielago is the greatest Italian bull yet, with a 6.5L V12 powerplant pumping out 700-hp and 509 lb-ft of torque – good enough for an impressive 2.9 second 0-62 mph time.

The Aventador already features some of the most aggressive styling Lamborghini has to offer, and pairing it up with a matte black exterior with black wheels makes it look like the next Batmobile. By comparison, even the Ferraris and the Alfa Romeo 8C that roll up in the video just look downright mundane.

It looks as though Lamborghini maybe working on a very fast Aventador prototype. Spy shots have been taken of an Aventador sporting camouflage, fitted with Bugatti Veyron rims and tires.

Ever dreamed of owning your own exotic car collection? Well, if you recently won a hefty lottery jackpot then Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale has you covered. The allocator of fine machines has assembled six of the most exotic vehicles ever made and is offering them for a lump-sum purchase of $9 million.

Rather than sit back and fill orders for the Aventador, Lamborghini is preparing a new “super sports car” that will debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this Fall.

Based out of Germany, Cosa Design has released a tuning package for the Lamborghini Gallardo giving it an aggressive Reventon-inspired design. In addition to the radical styling, Cosa Design also upgrades the horsepower to 540-hp and torque to 405 lb-ft from the factory 500-hp and 376 lb-ft. This also helps give the Gallardo a new top speed of 197-mph.

Dennis Rodman, known for his outlandish appearance and behavior on and off the NBA court, had a 2004 Lamborghini Gallardo customized to fit his style… and possibly his style only. In true Rodman extravagance, he had his Gallardo repainted a unique gold flake finish featuring a rainbow-esque shade depending on how the light hits it. In his defense, this style of paint was probably cool and flashy enough back when he did it to match his style.

Themed builds can often times be a disaster; sometimes attributed to having a bad concept, other times it’s just poor execution. The idea of taking a Lamborghini Murcielago and applying a themed build to it is could be scary, finding out that its inspiration comes from the Zero Fighter planes of the World War II era makes it interesting. Seeing the result though is proof that execution and taste is vital to building any project properly.

The Lamborghini Estoque seems to be well on its way to production, and should arrive sometime in 2014. According to a leaked document, the Italian automaker will also be offering a drop top version of the four-door, which will be unveiled one year after the sedan’s debut. The Estoque convertible will likely arrive first in concept form in 2015, and then go into production form for 2016.

Lamborghini and Las Vegas go hand-in-hand like brothels and bad decisions. But what happens when the two kings of subtlety face each other?

Look, you have to try awfully hard to make any exotic, let alone a Lamborghini Gallardo, look bad. But somehow Galaxy Warrior (what a name) did exactly that with what they consider a styling package for the Italian exotic. While the front bumper isn’t as awful thanks to its hints at Reventon-inspired styling, the atrocious rear bumper just absolutely ruins the Lambo. Gone is the sleek, sexy and exotic styling the Gallardo is known for and enter in something we would expect to see on a Honda Civic.

With Ferrari having done away with manual transmissions already, Lamborghini is the next supercar manufacturer to follow the two-pedal trend, with the Bolognese outfit announcing that the next Gallardo will not be available with a manual gearbox, similar to its Aventador sibling.

In the world of matte wraps, the colors black, white, grey, blue, green and red maybe come to mind as acceptable finishes. Recently, a matte gold Nissan GT-R surfaced that made us wonder how other cars would look in non-traditional shades. Well, an answer to our curiosity has shown up with a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV exotic covered in a matte brown – yes, brown – finish. And surprisingly, it looks rather cool on the Lamborghini, contrasted by matte black accents and a nice set of gold wheels.

In this new 2012 Lamborghini Aventador “Quality” promo commercial, the Italian automaker takes the viewer inside the factory to show just how much thought and quality goes into designing and building the brand’s flagship super car.

Held once a year the the AutoClub Speedway outside LA, the Ultimate Lamborghini Experience promises an adrenaline-filled day at the track. Just ask the local wildlife.

The roar of a Murcielago LP670 SV’s 670-hp V12 engine can send a squirrel running. Unfortunately for this little rodent, he’s running right into the path of the exotic supercar.

We won’t spoil how it ends, but let’s just say it should meet PETA standards. Or not.. what happened to the rest of his tail?

The Barrett-Jackson auctions are famous for selling rare exotic cars for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Usually the cars that command the highest prices are limited production Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s and Aston Martin’s.

Bruce Wayne’s ride of choice in The Dark Night was a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, but the Murci met an early demise halfway through the movie.

Japan is one of those rare countries, like the United States, that cherish and worship automobiles. Cars are truly part of Japan’s culture, so it’s really sad to see a 25th Anniversary Lamborghini Countach, such as this one, sitting underneath a train station gathering dust.
