2011 Ford Shelby GT500: The 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 with the SVT Performance Package comes with all-new Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G:2 tires that SVT engineers worked directly with Goodyear to develop. Nineteen-inch forged-aluminum wheels in the front and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels in the rear compliment the all-new tire. (02/08/2010)

It blends the best of the past with the present, and it’s too much car for not enough man. And next year the Ford Shelby GT500 will be even wilder thanks to a new supercharged 5.8-liter V8 engine.

Back in March came the first rumors of a larger displacement V8 for the GT500 and now that info has been confirmed in details released as a part of a new Ford contract with the United Auto Workers.

The plans specifically state that the company’s Romeo Engine Assembly Plant will receive a $50 million upgrade in order produce the new engine, which will gain almost a half a liter of displacement and is rumored to produce more than 600-hp.
