With the recently announced 2013 DBS Ultimate Edition, Aston Martin is now hard at work preparing its next generation flagship model. Most recently, out shooters have captured these spy photos of the 2014 Aston Martin DBS running hot laps on the Nurburgring.

While covered up in some custom form-hiding bodywork, don’t expect the new DBS to change dramatically in terms of styling, although do look for inspiration from the One-77 supercar.

There’s an obvious new headlight design on this prototype, and what Aston Martin appears to be working so hard to hide is a much wider grille.

Power will continue to come from the brand’s 5.9-liter V12 engine with somewhere between 550 and 600 hp. Added performance will come through light weight, with increased use of carbon fiber – a material Aston Martin already uses for the hood and trunk lid on the current DBS.
