Ford Mustang, F-150, Others Recalled: Defective Reverse Gear

It seems some 10,500 vehicles left the factory between 2011 and 2013 with faulty transmissions, prompting Ford to issue a recall.

In affected vehicles, the company says that in certain F-150 pickup trucks, Mustangs, Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators, the reverse gear might fail to engage. Also, because of a possible miscalibration in the transmissions, the dash light meant to indicate that reverse is engaged might not illuminate, increasing the risk of a pedestrian strike, parking lot brawl, fender bender or possibly much worse.

The recall is voluntary and expected to begin on June 25 at which point owners can expect to be contacted by the company.
