Nissan redesigned the Altima mid-size sedan for the 2013 model year, and now a video has been released of three employees who were crucial in the development of the new Altima discussing its design.

The three men in the video are associate product chief designer Atsushi Nishitani, chief project specialist Toshimi Kobayashi, and a vehicle quality evaluation group member named Ryan Rumberger.

Between the three of them, the message is clear that the new Altima was designed to stand out in the crowd of mid-size sedans. Evoking emotion was important when the car was being developed, as well as trying to achieve a premium feel akin to a BMW or Mercedes, says the designer.

Watch the video below to see the redesigned Altima explained by its creators.
