Originally seen at the 2012 New York Auto Show as a concept, it has now been confirmed that the production version of the Acura RLX will bow at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The RLX will run with a direct-injected 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes around 370 hp, mated to Honda’s SH-AWD system which uses three separate electric motors.

One motor works in unison with the V6 engine as a conventional hybrid drive, while two others power the rear wheels. The two electric motors allow power to be distributed left to right in the rear to help the car rotate.

This setup will be matched to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, that will allow the RLX around 30 mpg in the city, 30 mpg on the highway and a combined 30 mpg rating. There will be an non hybrid setup as well, that is said to make about 310 hp.

The interior of the RLX features an 8-inch display screen and a seven-inch touch screen that uses the latest AcuraLink system with features such as stolen vehicle tracking.
